Walmart error: Product Name exceeds the maximum character limit

What causes this error

In Item Spec 5.0, productName must be 10–199 characters. Titles over 199 are rejected outright; Walmart also warns that anything over ~90 characters hurts search ranking. Bulk feeds often blow past this when titles include long variant strings.

How to fix it

Option A: fix it manually

  1. Filter your spec file for titles longer than 199 characters.
  2. Trim to under 199 (ideally under 90) while keeping brand + core keywords at the front.
  3. Also check the minimum: titles under 10 characters are rejected too.
  4. Re-upload once all titles fall in the 10–199 range.

Option B: fix it automatically
